International Relations Departmental Awards

IR Senior Awards
 Each Spring the faculty awards several prizes to outstanding graduating seniors.  Dependent upon the candidates, some awards may not be awarded every year.

Aurie N. Dunlap Prize in International Relations
Established by the department in 1977 in memory of Professor Dunlap.  The department will award up to two Dunlap awards for either Academics or Service to the department.

Academic Award
Among the criteria are IR major GPA (3.5 minimum), overall scholarly standing, number of IR courses taken, promotion of appreciation of IR by the Lehigh community, and contribution to university life. 

Leadership Award
Honors a student for outstanding service to the Department. 

Carey B. Joynt International Relations Award
Established by the department in 1986 in honor of Professor Joynt.  Honors a student for outstanding academic performance and/or for outstanding service to the department.

Oles M. Smolansky Award for Academic Excellence in International Relations 
Established in 2011 in honor of Professor Smolansky. Awarded to a graduating a senior who has achieved an outstanding academic record.
