Norrin M. Ripsman (Ph.D. University of Pennsylvania) is Monroe J. Rathbone Professor in the International Relations Department at Lehigh University. He has held prestigious fellowships at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1997-98), the Mershon Center at Ohio State University (1998-99), the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at the Kennedy School at Harvard University (2010-11), and the Norwegian Nobel Institute (2015). His research interests include: democracy and national security, postwar peacemaking, constructing regional stability, the political economy of national security, neoclassical realism, and the impact of globalization on national security. He is the author/co-author five books, most recently Peacemaking from Above, Peace from Below: States, Societies, and Peace Between Regional Rivals (Ithaca, NY: Cornell University Press, forthcoming) and (with Steven E. Lobell and Jeffrey W. Taliaferro)Neoclassical Realist Theory of International Politics (London: Oxford University Press, forthcoming), a co-editor of four books, and the author of over 20 peer-reviewed articles in International Security, International Studies QuarterlySecurity Studies, Millennium: A Journal of International Studies, International InteractionsInternational Studies Review, GeopoliticsInternational Journal, and The Canadian Journal of Political Science.
