Professor Madeira received some good news! She is the recipient of Lehigh's Paul J. Franz, Jr and Class of '68 Award, which will fund her travel to Austria later this year to present at a conference and complete a project with a colleague at the University of Innsbruck. Her project will help IR scholars understand the distinctive and unexpected ways that Latin American countries have integrated into the global trade regime.

Before her semester abroad was cut short because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lehigh junior Samantha Margolis (IR-MLL) had the opportunity to write and give a speech at the Human Rights Council on Madagascar's UPR. Her speech starts at 22:53.
