Middle East Studies Association of North America (MESA) released a letter to Turkish leadership and others condemning the Turkish government's attacks on Professor Henri Barkey.

Senior Toni Isreal, who is triple majoring in International Relations and Modern Languages, Africana Studies, and Global Studies, was one of 100 students to receive the Boren Scholarship.  The Boren Scholarship awards $20,000 to study a language in a country that is critical to US national security.  Isreal will be completing her studies of Arabic at the Qasid Arabic Institute in Amman, Jordan in a year-long abroad program.

Lehigh's Yinan He gave two talks in Japan recently. The first talk was at Waseda University in Tokyo, where Professor He discussed Chinese identity in relationship with Sino-Japanese relations (see flyer above). The second talk was delivered at Ritsumeikan University where she talked about the China's Dream and Sino-Japanese relations.
