We are at a precarious moment in our country's history. Our democracy is at risk not mainly from a foreign power or fringe militias like the Oath Keepers with tiny memberships – but from millions of Americans willing to support force to overturn election results. The talk will present extensive research showing on "who" stormed the US Capitol on January 6, the scope and magnitude of insurrectionist sentiments in the country today, and how fears of "the Great Replacement," the erosion of trust in democratic institutions, and decline of democratic norms of restraint are creating a "violent populist" movement in the United States.
